Stationery
doesn't have to be difficult to design but is important
for your image
Have
you ever gotten a letter from a company and thought "how
cheap?" This is not the image you want to project to
clients, prospects, vendors and other businesses.
Your
stationery says something about you or your company. Instead
of making it say something bad, make it work for you.
Design
your letterhead in black and white first because your
letterhead will inevitably be used on a fax and photocopy
machine. Your paper choice, while it may look great in
color, may look like a big gray blob when faxed.
Seriously
consider using two or more colors to grab attention. Adding
too many can look busy, but using one or more can greatly
enhance and accentuate your design.
Use standard sizes for paper and envelopes. A #10 envelope
is 9 1/2 x 4 1/8 inches.
Avoid the boring and consider not centering your
vital information at the top center of the page.
Proofread, proofread and proofread your work.
There should be a running visual theme in your
letterhead, invoices, envelopes and business cards. This
helps establish an identity.
